If you have a slower modem (33.6, 28.8, or 14.4), or find that your modem is connecting slow because you live out of town, try changing the phone number that your modem dials to. Follow these instructions to change the phone number for your particular operating system. If you have a 56k modem, we recommend that you do not change your phone number unless you are connecting from out of town and have lower connection speeds (less than 33.6). Windows 95/98 From your desktop, double-click My Computer. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon. Hold your mouse pointer over the icon for your account to Borealis, and press your right mouse key. From the pop-up list, select Properties. Change the dial phone number from 562-7200 to 562-7299 (position your cursor inside the phone number box and enter the new number). Click "Okay". Now you can exit the Dial-up Networking and My Computer menu boxes. Windows 3.1 Open the icon on your desktop that you use to dial to Borealis (probably looks like a telephone). Change the phone number from 562-7200 to 562-7299 by placing your cursor in the telephone box and typing in the new number. You can either connect immediately, or close the connect box, and the new phone umber will be saved. If you have any comments or
